Well we went to the cartiologist yesterday. He asked me three times if I feed my baby. Now that''s enough to make you want to smack someone!!!! I had the nursing down pat. She was eating for twenty minutes and feeding every three hours. I actually felt sane. Then I go see the cartiologist and he wants to measure everything again! The faster she gains weight, the faster the tissue will help close the hole in her heart. You know I want nothing more than her VSD to close and the murmor to disappear. I get all his advice, but I can''t exactly put a measuring cup in my breast to measure how much she''s getting. He wants her to eat every two hours. So here we go back the the dairy farm I go. And the spit up returns, trying to feed her every two hours. So I''m back to feeding her every two and a half to three hours. That''s my call, I''m not a doctor, but it''s only common sense! So I am not sure that the doctor looked at the scenerio. He wants me to pump ten/fifteen minutes, to feed her in fifteen minutes, to hold her up for fifteen to twenty minutes for the acid reflux. Now that''s fifty minutes to start all over again in one hour ten minutes. Not to mention the fact that the pumping supplies and the bottles have to be sterilized. So at what point does he want me to sleep? Oh and wait, the milk supply is down so I have to supplement with formula. Oh and to top it all off, the cartiologist, wants me in the pediatrician''s office every week for a weight check and he wants her gaining an ounce a day. So when you feel sleep deprived, you can call me, I''m sure I''m up!
